Open Casting Calls published the official press release for the open casting call for the Untitled Cameron Crowe/Hawaii project, formerly known as “Deep Tiki”. According to the press release the movie will start shooting on September 26 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The press release reveals more details about the plot and confirms that Bradley will be playing Gilchrest.

Hi’Lawe Productions and Scott Rudin Productions in association with Vinyl Films are set to begin production on the Sony Pictures romance adventure feature film formerly titled “Deep Tiki”. The project is now going by the working titles of “Untitled Cameron Crowe Project” or “Untitled Hawaii”. In addition to the principal actor casting taking place in Los Angeles, an open casting call has been scheduled in Honolulu, Hawaii for people interested in working as fully paid extras and possibly featured background actors. All ages and types are needed, an no experience is necessary. Also, there are no fees or costs whatsoever to attend the casting call or to be cast in the film. Shooting will get underway on September 26, 2013.

“Untitled Hawaii” centers on a celebrated military contractor named Gilchrest who returns to the site of his greatest career triumphs in Hawaii, and is overseeing a weapons satellite launch. He re-connects with a long lost love, while unexpectedly falls in love with a hard-charging Air Force pilot – and watchdog assigned to him – named Major Ng. Gilchrest and Ng team up to scuttle the launch of the satellite, while dealing with mystical island forces.

Starring in “Untitled Hawaii” is Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper playing the starring role of Gilchrest. Since Cooper’s Orcar nod for “Silver Linings Playbook”, he has been busy starring again with Jennifer Lawrence in the recently completed feature film “Serena”. He also starred opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams in the upcoming Sony Pictures film “American Hustle”. Also starring in “Untitled Hawaii” is Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee Rachel McAdams playing Bradley Cooper’s ex-girlfriend. McAdams is about to wrap filming on “Every Thing Will Be Fine”, starring alongside James Franco. Golden Globe Award nominee Emma Stone will play Major Ng. Stone recently returned in her role as Gwen Stacy in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”. Academy Award nominee Alec Baldwin has also joined the cast in an undisclosed role.

Academy Award winning filmmaker Cameron Crowe will direct “Untitled Hawaii” from an original screeplay that he wrote himself. Crowe will also produce under the banner of his production company Vinyl Films. Also producing is Academy Award winner Scott Rudin for Scott Rudin Productions. Ilona Herzberg will executive produce.
